The Libraries continually evaluate the resources that we purchase or subscribe to ensure that our collections budget is directed toward the needs of the UM community. As part of our FY13 evaluation, we reviewed usage data to determine cost-effectiveness. Some of our more cost effective titles cost less than $1 per download. During the review of Taylor and Francis subscriptions we found that 72 titles were on average, costing $522 per download. We are considering the 72 titles for cancellation.

We value all feedback from the UM community. In the coming weeks, I will reach out to the academic departments affected by the proposed cancellations to provide more information. Please send any comments or concerns to John Renaud, Director for Collection Strategies and Scholarly Communication,
