Interlibrary Lending is a library-to-library transaction in which non-University of Miami libraries borrow circulating materials from the Otto G. Richter (Main) library, Music library, Marine, Math library, Brockway Storage and the Off-Campus Shelving Facility collections. The following University of Miami libraries have separate interlibrary loan offices: Law and Medical. Please contact them directly for information regarding their services.
Interlibrary Lending requests are typically processed via OCLC. The ILLiad Lending Request form for lending is the preferred request method for libraries unable to request items via OCLC.
For more information on how to establish an Interlibrary Lending Account for your institution, please contact our Interlibrary Loan Department.
Interlibrary Lending Policy
Through interlibrary lending (ILL), users of other academic, public and special libraries can gain access to materials held by the Otto G. Richter library at the University of Miami. The policies and procedures followed in providing Interlibrary Loan Services are based on the Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States and International Lending and Document Delivery: Principles and Guidelines for Procedure.
Individuals outside the University of Miami community interested in borrowing materials from the Otto G. Richter library collections should contact their local library to initiate an interlibrary loan request. We will not loan materials directly to an individual. All requests must be initiated by another library.
