Welcome to the University of Miami Graduate School Information at Richter’s Media Lab. The Digital Media Lab supports the University’s ETD Program by providing assistance with the Final Steps of submission. We work with the students to format their ETD to the Graduate School’s requirements. The lab also has software to help with creating digital assets (audio, video, images, etc.)
If you are having trouble with your ETD conversion, you can refer to one of our help guides below, email us or contact the media lab to speak with one of our staff. You can also drop by the media lab in person, but it’s best to call ahead and make sure someone will be available to help you.
Below are pdf conversion guidelines for the typical software used to create thesis and dissertation. If you do not see the software you are using listed, please consult with the ETD Formatting Support Group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Formatting Guidelines from the Graduate School ETD website
Before You Begin Writing – includes ETD process, formatting guidelines, page templates, samples, and more.
Organization, Formatting, and PDF Conversion Guidelines for Theses, Dissertations, and Doctoral/Lecture Essays – online pdf describing the Graduate School’s general organization and formatting requirements. Both guideline documents are continually updated, so check the ETD Web site, miami.edu/etd, for the latest versions.
