Koichi Tasa has served as the University Archivist at the University of Miami since September 2007. He oversees the organization of the materials that document the institutional history of UM, and he has aggressively digitized Presidential Papers and the historical photograph collections. He earned his M.L.S. from the School of Library Service, Columbia University in 1991 and received a certificate from the Modern Archives Institute, National Archives and Record Administration in 2006. He has held professional positions at prestigious academic and business organizations, including as a library specialist at the C. V. Starr East Asian Library, Columbia University; Vice President, International, American Association of Advertising Agencies; and Librarian/Archivist at Louis Calder Memorial Library, Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami. He has also provided consultation on Japan-related subjects for organizations, such as the Institute of Fine Arts Library, New York University; The New York Public Library, and the Lowe Art Museum, University of Miami.
