We are excited to announce the four faculty awards for the Fall 2018 Grant Cycle for the Mellon Foundation CREATE Grants Program at the University of Miami. Funding is available for these projects until December 31, 2019. Award recipients are:

Amount Awarded: $6,000 - Stephen F. Butterman, Ph.D. / Associate Professor of Portuguese, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, College of Arts and Sciences
Special Collections
“Documenting Diversity and Democracy in Brazil”
Amount Awarded: $5,880 - Judy Hood, M.F.A. / Senior Lecturer, Department of English, College of Arts and Sciences
Special Collections
“Attic Treasure: Flagler’s Dream Train”
Amount Awarded: $3,400 - Kim Grinfeder, M.P.S., Associate Professor, Department of Cinema and Interactive Media, School of Communication
Special Collections
“Placing History: An Augmented Reality Tour of Coconut Grove”
Amount Awarded: $6,000
The CREATE Committee is comprised of representatives from the Lowe Art Museum; University of Miami Libraries; and faculty members from Colleges and Schools at the University of Miami. This committee reviewed the applications and selected the projects that offered the best creative, interdisciplinary employment of artwork, artifacts, or archival materials at the University of Miami Libraries and Lowe Art Museum.
