We are excited to announce the four faculty awards for the Spring 2018 Grant Cycle for the Mellon Foundation CREATE Grants Program at the University of Miami. Funding is available for these projects until May 31, 2019. Award recipients are:

Lowe Art Museum
“Navigating the Public Sculpture Program at the U: A Virtual Tour”
Amount Awarded: $4,500 - Kate Ramsey, Ph.D. / Department of History, College of Arts and Sciences
Special Collections and Cuban Heritage Collection, University of Miami Libraries
“Afro-Caribbean Religion: Healing and Power”
Amount Awarded: $6,000 - Carol Kaminsky, Ph.D. / Dance Program Director and Lecturer, Frost School of Music
Lowe Art Museum
“Dancing Glass: Reflection on Art through Glass”
Amount Awarded: $3,500
The CREATE Committee is comprised of representatives from the Lowe Art Museum; University of Miami Libraries; and faculty members from Colleges and Schools at the University of Miami. This committee reviewed the applications and selected the projects that offered the best creative, interdisciplinary employment of artwork, artifacts, or archival materials at the University of Miami Libraries and Lowe Art Museum.
