Who We Are
The Jay I. Kislak Collection at the University of Miami Libraries houses a large collection that focuses on cultural encounters and their legacies across the Americas. These materials include rare books, manuscripts, contemporary artists’ books and zines, graphic art, maps, photographs, and broadsides.
As the collection continues to grow, an intentional focus will be given to topics pertaining to the Black diaspora and indigeneity. The scope of the University of Miami Libraries’ Jay I. Kislak Collection reinforces the University’s hemispheric mission and commitment to a continuing relationship with its neighbors.
