STRATEGY 5.1: Increase employee awareness of Libraries service programs.

  • TACTIC 5.1.1 -- Increase faculty and staff engagement through appropriate action steps based upon areas identified in the Powered ByU survey results.

STRATEGY 5.2: Increase employee awareness of professional development and other lifelong learning opportunities.

  • TACTIC 5.2.1 -- Create an intranet page with links to existing opportunities provided by our membership organizations.

STRATEGY 5.3: Increase an equitable, diverse, accessible, and inclusive workplace.

  • TACTIC 5.3.1 -- Establish a Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI) Council that raises issues and makes recommendations to advance human diversity in the Libraries.
  • TACTIC 5.3.2 -- Provide maximum flexibility to staff pursuing professional library and information science degrees; encourage and promote pathways,and create positions for advancement.
  • TACTIC 5.3.3 -- Ensure personnel search and hire processes help to recruit and support a diverse workforce.
  • TACTIC 5.3.4 -- Retain current employees and recruit across all groups; emphasis on culture of inclusion and belonging with opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • TACTIC 5.3.5 -- Establishment of the Telecommuting Task Force Guidelines and codification of hybrid work.
  • TACTIC 5.3.6 -- Establishment of Faculty Hiring Guidelines Taskforce.
  • TACTIC 5.3.7 -- Ensure the Use of Gender-Neutral Language and Preferred Pronouns.
  • TACTIC 5.3.8 -- Develop a Diversity Statement.
