Access & Borrowing

During the summer 2022 semester, The Marta and Austin Weeks Music Library will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

*** Other patrons include alumni, community users, employees’ family members, guests of UM Administration, trustees and their families, and special library permits, as well as members of the Friends of the Library and members of the Amigos of the Cuban Heritage Collection who join at the “Sustaining” level or higher. Community user cards and membership to the Friends of the Library or the Amigos of the Cuban Heritage Collection may be obtained at Richter library.

Borrowing Policies

Holds

Items placed on hold or requested will be held for two weeks before they are returned to circulation. To make other hold arrangements, please contact the circulation staff at Weeks Music Library.

Renewals and Recalls

Patrons may renew scores twice. To renew a score more than twice please contact the circulation staff at Weeks Music Library.

Recalled items are subject to immediate return.

Fines

  • Scores and books: $0.25/day
  • Lost parts: $5.00/part (see below)
  • CDs and DVDs: $1.00/day
  • Library Use Item: $1.00/hour
  • Recall: $2.00/day

Missing Parts

Students who borrow scores with parts are responsible for returning the complete set.  If a part is not returned, the borrower will receive an email asking him or her to check again for the missing item(s).  If the borrower cannot find the part or does not respond to the email he or she will be charged $5.00 per part.
